Duties of the post

  • Deliver solutions for a range of projects as well as the development of bespoke web applications.
  • Full software delivery cycle from business analysis through to design and test.
  • Develop client solutions using C# ASP.NET, SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Integrating client solutions with other systems using various integration methods, including WCF, REST APIs, SOAP, etc.
  • Helping to define and influence the future technical direction for the evolution of client solutions.
  • Supporting the deployment of client solutions into production.
  • Working within an agile environment to develop high-quality software.
  • Providing second-line technical support to help resolve customer issues.
  • Working with the back-end/systems to integrate with our .NET Web API frameworks.
  • Design overall architecture of the web application.
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the technical team to design and launch new features.
  • Maintain code integrity and organisation.
  • Produce functional and technical design documents.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to produce requirements documents.
  • Provide estimates for projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to write object orientated C# code in a self-directed environment and write maintainable code.
  • C#
  • ASP.NET MVC 5.0.
  • ASP.NET Web Forms.
  • Web API.
  • WCF.
  • An understanding of design patterns and their application in C#.
  • Experience in Visual Studio 2019.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Transact SQL.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Entity Framework Code First.
  • JQuery / JavaScript / Bootstrap
  • XML, XSLT.
  • NUnit / XUnit
  • Can demonstrate good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Experience using JIRA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivated learner who keeps abreast of current technology.
  • A 3rd level qualification in software related discipline and 2-3 years commercial experience.

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Experience of working with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform (App services SQL database).
  • .Net Core
  • UI-UX design experience
  • Crystal Reports.
  • TDD
  • Microsoft certification.
