Senior Business Analyst

Salary: £60 - £70K (reflective of experience and skill set)
Term: Full Time, Hybrid + Permanent (on successful completion of probationary period)

The Role
As Senior Business Analyst, this role will require you to gain an in-depth understanding of our insurance software. You will be expected to work with both key stakeholders in the business and external clients to proactively and reactively identify improvements to the system.
You will be responsible for formulating and documenting the business rules and architecture for features changes and be able to present these in a way that both non-technical and technical audiences can fully understand. You will own the Refinement workflows resulting from existing customer ‘Change Requests’ as well as supporting green field projects and new system features.
Reporting to Firemelon’s Head of Operations, you will be a key driver for improvements in the quality of the product, our service to clients and the processes of change management within the business. A ‘product person’, you will be a champion of knowledge sharing, agile/critical thinking and be comfortable spending time producing detailed documentation/release notes in Confluence/JIRA or running ceremonies with the development team.
Essential Criteria
- 3 years+ as a successful Business Analyst in an Agile team
- A strong academic record including a third level degree in business/technology
- An experienced Business Analyst holding relevant certifications
- A technical background through experience working with or within a development team
- Experience in insurance, financial services or the travel industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written skills with experience in producing customer facing user manuals, articles or release notes
- Excellent communication skills with a willingness to build valued relationships with both our clients and our teams in Firemelon
- Strong drive to excel professionally, to guide and motivate others
- Experience gathering, defining and documenting business and solution requirements for the introduction, enhancement, or replacement of systems
- Experience analysing systems and procedures, process design and modelling, documenting ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ assessments for a target operating model
- Experience in agile methodologies and executing ‘best practice’ techniques and tooling
- Experience running agile ceremonies; particularly sprint planning and story refinement
- Experience with stakeholder management and working collaboratively with development and testing teams to deliver high quality solutions to meet client and user business needs
- Process design including workflows
- Experience working with Atlassian products including JIRA and Confluence
- Experience managing a backlog and refining stories to a state of ‘Ready’.
Desirable Criteria
- Indepth knowledge of database systems
- Reporting knowledge – Power BI etc
- Atlassian Admin experience – workflow management / configuration
